ASIA-4300 (3) Open Topics in Asian Literature and Culture

Examines selected texts on a particular topic. Taught by regular or visiting faculty. Topics change each term. May be repeated up to 6 total credit hours. Prereq., instructor consent.

ASIA-4830 (3) Senior Thesis or Project in Asian Studies

Studies an approved Asian topic, following guidelines established by the program director. Undertaken either as an independent study with an Asian studies faculty member. Required for an Asian Studies major. Prerequisites: Restricted to students with 57-180 credits (Junior or Senior) Asian Studies (ASIA) majors only.

ASIA-4840 (1-3) Independent Study

Provides an independent study opportunity, by special arrangement with Asian Studies faculty, for students with particular Asian Studies interests. May be repeated up to 6 total credit hours. Restricted to Asian Studies majors.

ASIA-4930 (1-2) Engage Asia: Internship in Asian Studies

Matches students with supervised internships in which they share academic learning of topics in Asian culture, history, or language with, for example, teachers and students in the Boulder Valley School District. Students work with Center for Asian Studies research and teaching faculty to, for example, research and prepare lessons they will present in BVSD K-12 classes on world cultures, world geography, world history, and Asian languages. May be repeated up to 6 total credit hours. Recommended prereq., Asian language and culture courses.
