Considers current theoretical approaches to the history of sexuality and traces the changing meaning of same-sex sexuality in the U.S. through investigation of lesbian and gay identity formation, community development, politics, and queer cultural resistance. Prereqs., WMST 2000 and 2600, and junior or senior standing. Same as HIST 4636/5636. Prerequisites: Restricted to students with 57-180 credits (Juniors or Seniors).
